Digi Sign replaced the traditional poster-based menus at Florentines Traditional Fish and Chip Shop in Banbridge with eight LCD digital menu screens, ranging from 43 to 55 inches. The project also included a logo redesign, new menu styles and editable templates for the customer.
From printed posters to digital menus
The new installation brings the main menu and food promotions onto screens around the shop. Landscape displays above the serving counter work alongside portrait menus on the rear wall and a separate pair of portrait screens for specials.
Each screen has a built-in Android media player and Wi-Fi connectivity, with content managed through a cloud-based CMS.
A fresh look from Zoe at Digi Sign
Zoe redesigned the Florentines logo and developed the menu styles around the updated branding. The blue-and-white design carries through the main menus and promotional displays, giving the screens a consistent look throughout the shop.
The specials displays combine food photography with short descriptions, while the main menu screens show the food categories, dishes and prices.
Templates the customer can update
Digi Sign provided editable templates so the Florentines team can manage their own menu content through the cloud-based CMS. Menu and price changes can be made digitally, without replacing printed posters each time.
The customer has the templates to update the content themselves while continuing to use the menu styles designed for the shop.
The finished installation
Florentines now has eight digital screens for its menus and promotions, refreshed branding and the ability to manage its own content updates. The project brought together screen installation, logo and menu design, and cloud-based content management.
