Digi Sign designed, supplied and installed a major outdoor LED signage system for Oasis Bingo Cookstown, combining a large 6 m × 4 m P2.6 LED display with a bespoke double-sided projecting digital sign.
The project required much more than supplying standard screens. Both the main display and projecting sign had to be designed around the building, viewing positions and requirements of a busy entertainment venue.
The complete system is supported by digital signage CMS software, giving Oasis the ability to keep promotional and event content up to date.
The challenge
Oasis Bingo wanted to dramatically increase the visibility of its Cookstown venue and replace traditional static signage with high-impact digital displays.
The building offered two very different opportunities.
The main frontage provided space for a substantial LED display capable of presenting promotions, events and branded video content.
The side of the building also faced traffic and pedestrians approaching along the street, creating an opportunity for a projecting digital sign that could be seen from both directions.
A standard off-the-shelf product would not have suited the projecting sign requirement, so a bespoke solution had to be designed and fabricated.
6 m × 4 m P2.6 outdoor LED display
The centrepiece of the installation is a large 6 metre by 4 metre P2.6 outdoor LED display positioned prominently above the main entrance.
At approximately 24 square metres, the display creates a major digital focal point for the venue.
The 2.6 mm pixel pitch provides strong image quality for promotional graphics, video and detailed content while the outdoor LED technology delivers the brightness required for an external installation.
The screen can be used to promote upcoming events, bingo sessions, special offers and other venue content throughout the day and evening.
Custom double-sided projecting LED sign
A second major element of the project was the approximately 3 metre high by 500 mm wide double-sided projecting LED sign.
Rather than using a standard cabinet, Digi Sign designed a bespoke structure specifically for the Oasis building.
The projecting format positions digital LED displays perpendicular to the building, allowing moving content to be seen by people approaching along the street from either direction.
This provides a completely different type of visibility from the main front-facing LED display.
Designed and fabricated for the building
The projecting sign required custom design and fabrication before the LED technology could be installed.
A bespoke structural frame was manufactured to suit the dimensions of the digital displays and provide secure mounting back to the building.
This is an important part of Digi Sign's approach to LED signage.

Two digital displays working together
The two LED installations perform different jobs.
The 6 m × 4 m main screen provides a large visual canvas directly above the entrance, while the projecting LED sign attracts attention from further along the street.
Together they give Oasis multiple opportunities to communicate with customers approaching the venue.
The finished installation is particularly striking after dark, when both LED displays become major visual features of the building.
Content management through CMS
The displays are supported by digital signage content management software.
This allows Oasis to update promotional material digitally rather than relying on printed posters or fixed signage.
Content can be changed as events, promotions and campaigns change, making the signage much more useful over the lifetime of the installation.
Large-format outdoor LED for entertainment venues
Entertainment venues have constantly changing content.
Upcoming events, promotions, offers and opening information can all change regularly, making digital LED particularly suitable for venues such as bingo clubs, casinos, cinemas and entertainment centres.
Outdoor LED also allows signage to become part of the visual identity of the venue rather than simply being another advertising poster.
The result
Oasis Bingo Cookstown now has two substantial digital signage assets integrated into the exterior of the venue.
The 6 m × 4 m P2.6 LED display provides a large high-impact promotional platform above the main entrance, while the custom double-sided projecting LED sign provides visibility along the street in both directions.
The project demonstrates Digi Sign's ability to combine large-format outdoor LED, bespoke fabrication, structural design and digital content management within a single installation.
