What digital menu boards are
Digital menu boards are commercial screens that replace printed menus, so cafés, takeaways and restaurants can change prices, specials and dayparts without a reprint. Digi Sign supplies, installs and supports networked menu boards across Northern Ireland and Ireland. Most of the menu boards we install are 4K commercial LCDs, mainly from Allsee, with other brands and custom sizes when the counter needs them. You can see them working in our Moneymore showroom by appointment.

The complete menu-board package for food and drink
For cafés, takeaways, chip shops and restaurants, we supply menu boards as one complete package rather than a box of screens:
- A free site survey of your counter, wall, power and network
- Menu content design, included when you order three or more screens
- Installation and commissioning by our own team
- Staff training, so your team can change prices and specials themselves
- A 3-year LCD warranty, with the exact cover confirmed on your quote and extended warranties available
- Phone and remote support throughout the warranty, 9am–5:30pm Monday to Friday
Screen sizes, screen count and software are chosen around your counter and menu, and everything is itemised on one clear quotation.
What affects the installed price?
The installed price depends on screen size and quantity, mounting, cable routes, power and network work, software and menu design. We itemise the equipment and installation, and show any recurring software charges separately. Send your current menu, a counter photograph, approximate width and location for a project quotation.
Built for cafés, takeaways and restaurants
If customers queue at a counter, they need menus that stay readable and up to date. Our network digital menu boards suit:
- Independent cafés and coffee shops
- Takeaways and traditional chip shops
- Burger bars, ice cream shops and dessert counters
- Restaurants and hotel food and beverage counters
- Multi-site hospitality groups that want the same look across locations
You choose screen size and count around your counter width, menu categories and viewing distance. We plan mounting, power, network and content so the system works on a busy service, not only on a quiet demo day. Explore the wider food and drink approach if menus sit alongside other in-venue displays. For traditional fish and chip counters, see chip shop digital menu boards; for other takeaway counters, see takeaway digital menu boards.
What our network menu boards include
Our network digital menu boards are commercial indoor LCD displays sized for counter and wall menus:
- Sizes: 32, 43, 50 and 55 inches
- Resolution: most of our menu boards are 4K, and Full HD models are also available. The exact model is confirmed on your quote
- Brightness: 450 cd/m² for indoor counter use
- Connectivity: built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet
- Synchronisation: several screens can play in sync when they share the same network
- Duty: 24/7 commercial operation
- Warranty: 3 years on LCD
We mainly supply Allsee commercial LCDs for menu boards, and we also supply other brands and custom sizes when Allsee is not the best fit. Menu boards use commercial LCD rather than LED. We confirm synchronisation requirements and any software licensing in your quotation. Spec sheets for each size are on the product page.
Why a commercial menu board beats a TV on the wall
A domestic TV is built for living rooms, not all-day hospitality. Commercial menu boards are designed for longer operating hours, controlled brightness, proper mounting (including portrait where it helps) and networked content updates. Digi Sign is a specialist digital signage company rather than a general AV reseller, and we back LCD menu boards with a 3-year warranty and local aftercare across Northern Ireland and Ireland. If you are comparing options, send a photo of the counter and we will tell you honestly when a different display type would suit you better.
Keep menus current with easy-to-use software
Printed boards go out of date the moment a price or special changes. With the right content software, your team can schedule breakfast, lunch and evening menus, push promotions and keep several screens aligned.
We work with ScreenZeno, MySignagePortal and DSD, and recommend the one that best suits your site, staff and budget. We set it up, train your staff and stay on hand for support. Zoe can prepare on-brand menu layouts, while Raphael and Corey handle the technical side and the installation.
Any recurring software fees are set out clearly in your quotation.

- Raphael leads planning, drawing on more than 30 years across digital signage, IT and networking
- Corey is our installation engineer on site
- Zoe looks after content, design and marketing

That is the result we aim for: clear boards during service, updates without waiting for a printer, and a local team who already know your installation.
How Digi Sign approaches menu boards
Digi Sign is a digital signage specialist with a Mid-Ulster showroom, named projects you can look up, a choice of content software and our own installation team for Northern Ireland and Ireland. Menu boards are part of a wider range, so if you later need window displays or outdoor LED, we already understand your brand and your sites. We compete on clear specifications, honest quotations and aftercare.
If you need menus linked to your till or EPOS system, tell us at the start. Network digital menu boards are commercial displays with content management; till integration is a separate project, and we will be clear about what we can and cannot do.

Digital menu boards are commercial screens that replace printed menus, so cafés, takeaways and restaurants can change prices, specials and dayparts without a reprint. Most of the menu boards Digi Sign installs are 4K. We supply and install networked menu boards across Northern Ireland and Ireland, mainly using Allsee commercial LCDs, with other brands and custom sizes when the job needs them, and local aftercare from our Mid-Ulster team.
What is included in a Digi Sign menu-board package?
A free site survey, installation and commissioning, staff training, a 3-year LCD warranty and phone and remote support throughout the warranty, 9am–5:30pm Monday to Friday. Menu content design is included when you order three or more screens. The exact warranty cover is confirmed on your quote, and extended warranties are available.
Who installs digital menu boards in Northern Ireland?
Digi Sign is a digital signage specialist based in Moneymore, Mid-Ulster. We survey the counter, specify the menu boards, install and commission the system, then train your staff. Call 028 8678 8536 or book the showroom at 5 Smith Street, Moneymore, Magherafelt, BT45 7PF.
Do I need to replace my till or EPOS system for digital menu boards?
No. Our network digital menu boards are standalone commercial displays with networked content updates. You do not need to change your tills to run breakfast, lunch and evening menus. Menus driven by a till or EPOS system are a different kind of project. Tell us if that is what you need and we will be clear about what we can and cannot do.
Can we update menus ourselves?
Yes. We set up menu software so you can upload content, schedule breakfast, lunch and evening menus, and manage one screen or several. We work with ScreenZeno, MySignagePortal and DSD, and recommend the option that best suits your site, staff and budget. We configure the system, train your team and stay on hand for support. Any licence fees are set out in your quotation.
Are Digi Sign menu boards commercial screens?
Yes. We mainly use Allsee commercial LCDs for network menu boards: indoor hospitality screens at commercial brightness, mostly 4K, with Wi-Fi and Ethernet, multi-screen sync when screens share the same network, 24/7 duty and a 3-year LCD warranty (we confirm exactly what is covered on your quote). We also supply other brands and custom sizes when Allsee is not the best fit. Menu boards use commercial LCD rather than LED.
Can we see menu boards before we buy?
Yes. Our showroom at 5 Smith Street, Moneymore, Magherafelt, BT45 7PF is open by appointment, so we can prepare the right demonstrations. Bring your menu ideas and we will walk you through sizes, brightness and how menu updates work. Call 028 8678 8536 to book.
Do you cover takeaways and chip shops across Northern Ireland and Ireland?
Yes. Digi Sign designs, supplies, installs and supports menu boards for cafés, takeaways, chip shops and restaurants across Northern Ireland and Ireland from Mid-Ulster. The site survey is free.
What size digital menu boards do I need?
Our menu-board range covers common commercial sizes from 32 to 55 inches. Start with your menu categories, counter width and how far customers stand, then we match the right Allsee or other model, including custom sizes when needed. Send a photograph and your current menu and we will recommend a readable layout and screen count.
Can breakfast, lunch and evening menus change automatically?
Yes, with the right content software. We agree scheduling, staff access and the network connection before installation, and set out software and any licence costs in your quotation. ScreenZeno, MySignagePortal and DSD can all schedule content by date and time.
Can several screens play synchronised content?
Yes, when the screens share the same network. Tell us whether you need separate menu sections or one coordinated design across several screens, so we can confirm the right playback set-up.
Do you install across Northern Ireland and Ireland?
Yes. Digi Sign serves Northern Ireland and Ireland, and the site survey is free.
What warranty do LCD menu boards include?
Our LCD screens come with a 3-year warranty. LED screens carry a minimum 2-year warranty, and some models have 3 years depending on the product. We will confirm exactly what is covered on your quote, and extended warranties are available if you would like extra peace of mind. Phone and remote support are included throughout the warranty period, 9am–5:30pm Monday to Friday.
Do you have named menu-board installs in Northern Ireland?
Yes. For Florentines Traditional Fish and Chip Shop in Banbridge, Digi Sign replaced printed menus with eight network digital menu boards (43 to 55 inch), refreshed the branding and set up templates the Banbridge team can update themselves.
