The best digital signage for a retail shop depends on where the customer will see it.
A screen in a bright shop window has a completely different job from a screen above a till or a large LED feature wall inside a flagship store.
Digi Sign supplies and installs retail digital signage across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, from single commercial screens to custom Dicolor LED.
Shop-window displays
The window is often the first place to start.
A digital window screen can promote offers, product launches and seasonal campaigns to people passing the shop.
For bright windows, Ultra High Brightness Window Displays are designed to remain visible in demanding daylight conditions.
For much larger storefronts, a custom Dicolor LED display may be suitable. We assess the window, required brightness, structure and viewing distance before specifying the system.
In-store promotional screens
Inside the store, standard commercial displays can work well for:
- promotions
- product videos
- brand campaigns
- customer information
- seasonal content
Our Professional Monitors are designed for business use and long daily operating hours.
Freestanding displays
Digital posters and totems are useful when wall mounting is not practical or when the display needs to sit near an entrance, escalator or promotional zone.
They can create a strong focal point without major building work.
Large-format retail LED
For flagship retail environments, custom Dicolor LED can become part of the architecture.
Our BPerfect Rushmere project is a good example, using curved P1.6 LED built around the store design rather than a standard screen size.
What should retail content show?
Retail digital signage works best when the message is simple.
Examples include:
- one key offer
- new arrivals
- product demonstrations
- seasonal campaigns
- loyalty messaging
- social proof
- store information
Trying to show too much at once weakens the message.
How bright should a retail display be?
That depends on location.
A screen deep inside the store does not need the same brightness as a screen facing a sunlit window.
We assess the real environment before recommending the model.
Can multiple stores be managed remotely?
Yes. Cloud content management can let a retailer manage screens across multiple branches from one system.
That makes it possible to run national or regional campaigns while still allowing local content where required.
Should every retail screen be LED?
No.
LED is excellent for large, seamless and architectural displays, but LCD remains the right choice for many standard commercial applications.
A good retail specification uses the appropriate technology in each location rather than forcing one product everywhere.
Where should I start?
Send us:
- shop photographs
- approximate dimensions
- customer viewing distance
- window orientation if relevant
- number of locations
- examples of the content you want to show
We can then recommend the correct combination of window, in-store and feature displays.
Which display should I compare first?
For an outward-facing shop window, start with brightness, reflections and heat. For an indoor promotional position, start with viewing distance, operating hours and the content source. For a large feature wall, start with finished dimensions, viewing distance and whether the design needs a seamless image or a curve.
These are different jobs, so a retail project can use more than one display technology.

The BPerfect Rushmere case study shows curved P1.6 Dicolor LED built around the store. The project used CNC-cut templates and a dry fit to plan the curves, with DSA software for content control.
