Mounting away from fryer heat, steam and grease
Chip shop kitchens put heat, steam and airborne grease into the air around the counter. The answer is a proper survey before any brackets go up.
On a chip shop survey we usually check the distance from fryers, hot plates and extraction; steam paths and grease on the proposed wall; safe cable routes away from wet-clean areas; wall structure, power and ventilation; and the viewing angle from the queue.
We mount the boards where they stay readable and easy to service. If a proposed position is too close to heat or steam, we will say so and suggest a better layout. Mounting details are confirmed on site, and we only quote the protection that the manufacturer states for the screen.

What size boards suit a traditional chip shop counter?
Our menu-board range covers 32, 43, 50 and 55-inch screens, and most of the boards we install are 4K. Start with your menu categories, counter width and how far back the queue stands. Florentines in Banbridge has eight screens between 43 and 55 inches; your count depends on your wall and menu layout.
What is included in a chip shop menu-board package?

Can lunch and tea specials change on a schedule?
Yes, with the right content software. ScreenZeno, MySignagePortal and DSD can all schedule content by date and time. We set out software and any licence costs in your quotation.
Will you mount screens next to the fryers?
We check heat, steam, grease, cable routes and viewing distance first. Where a position is too close to fryers or extraction, we recommend a safer, clearer mounting plan. We only quote the weather or grease protection that the manufacturer states for the screen.
Do you install across Northern Ireland and Ireland?
Yes. Digi Sign serves Northern Ireland and Ireland, and the site survey is free.
Is this the same as an EPOS or till-linked menu?
Not as standard. Our network digital menu boards are commercial displays with networked content updates. Menus driven by a till or EPOS system are a different kind of project. Ask us if that is what you need and we will be clear about the options.
What warranty do the LCD boards include?
Our LCD screens come with a 3-year warranty. LED screens carry a minimum 2-year warranty, and some models have 3 years depending on the product. We will confirm exactly what is covered on your quote, and extended warranties are available if you would like extra peace of mind.
